The people of Yaldiz worshipped spirits who lent them the power of the ‘gleam’. The energy was regulated to avoid rendering them drunk with power. However, with the rise of Queen Sombresse came a thirst for new methods…
The Queen held an annual competition, “The Adventure of A Lifetime”, high praise if chosen. Little did those pixies know that the Queen’s sole purpose was to trick the chosen pixies to grant her their gleam. Isil, the strong young lady you see in the image above, had the privelege of watching her parents become the first to receive this honor. She waited patiently for years for their return but she heard nothing. Concerned, during the Queen’s Starlight feast at the palace, Isil inquired about her parents. The Queen played to her soft spots, ridiculing her and holding her accountable for wanting to cut her parent’s joyous adventure short.
Isil, embarrassed, made her way out of the dining hall. She sunk into a corner of the castle remote and quiet. She looked across the moving halls of the castle thinking what if she could find something out about her parents within one of these rooms. The castle had a strategy you see. The rooms switched places, changing their spot every now and then for additional security. Only the Queen knew the sequence to these wild movements but Isil also had a few tricks up her sleeve. She approached a painting of the throne room on the wall lightly touching the surface and using her gleam’s specialty of ‘liquifying’ information from objects. She knew where the throne room was and she set off running to catch it in time.
Isil jumped up holding onto the door of the floating throne room just in time and pulled herself into the room. She saw pixies being ushered into a portal to the human world, she’s read about these portals in her classes. What Isil didn’t understand was why. The Queen had to dispose of the pixies that knew her true intentions and so once she drained them of their gleam, she sent them to the human world. Isil without hesitation charged towards the portal barely escaping the guards and the razor-sharp teeth of the Queen’s angler fish. Let’s see if she can redeem her family and save the pixies.

My main influences derive from diverse cultures I was exposed to. The sea and the picturesque views of Istanbul inspired nautical concepts and the grand expositions I went to in France were reflected in my drawings. My experience with the urban tissue of England and Savannah led to my architectural drawings.
